We have been trying to get Gang Gang Dance to the Bunker for awhile. Everytime we see them play, it is very different. We've heard everything from an hour long dreamy psychedelic drone to a proper "rock" set of rhythmic songs (moving into dancehall rhythms lately!) ... it's always a far out and very original sound. They blow our mind everytime, and we assume that this show will be no different. Their new album on Fusetron is most excellent, and very worth tracking down. Terrestrial Tones is Eric Copland of Black Dice and Davey Tare of Animal Collective. Since both the Animal Collective and Black Dice are spending more and more time on the road and in the studio, they do not play out very often. We're expecting something dark and super stoned out. Mike Wolf founded the Polar Bear Club (the friday subTonic party that kind of became the Bunker when he quit in January 2003), and is one of the only people who has spent more time in subTonic than the Bunker residents. His taste in music is insanely good and extremely eclectic ... a true DJ chameleon. $mall ¢hange totally floored everyone when he played at the projector benefit a few months ago. He manages to change genres with just about every record, and he has the best records from every genre imaginable. We can't wait to let him loose on the Bunker once again (he will be joining us on a montly basis now)
