Black Lives Matter. End white supremacy. Defund the police. We recognize that we would not be here without the inspired work of Black American artists. Both Sybil and The Bunker will be sending a portion of our donations to Equality for Flatbush.
Welcome to The Bunker Stream. As we obviously cannot gather our community publicly as we have been for over 17 years, we will be bringing you streaming video from the studios of our family of artists. We hope this helps everyone in our community stay connected. Big shout out to The Lot Radio for being massively helpful in facilitating this for us. Note that we are treating these streams like parties, in that they are ephemeral and not archived. If you want to experience them you have to tune in live. Our artists are mostly playing marathon sets here and we want them to feel free to try new things and experiment with the format.
This Saturday we welcome our friend Sybil Jason of Farced for an extended six hour set with visuals by ACE. Sybil started out as a DJ in NYC back in 2004. We've reminisced about how back in that era of NYC nightlife, it was quite common for DJs to have residencies where they showed up with a ton of records and played all night long. We thought The Bunker Stream would be a great place to revisit that. Six hours will give Sybil plenty of time to stretch out and explore the countless styles and eras of music she has championed throughout her career.
Donations will support Equality for Flatbush and the artists involved in the broadcast (Sybil, ACE, The Bunker). Equality for Flatbush is a Black/POC-led, grassroots organization which does police accountability, affordable housing and anti-gentrification/anti-displacement organizing in Flatbush, East Flatbush and Brooklyn-wide. We believe very strongly in the work they are doing, especially as so many in our community will soon be facing both eviction and loss of unemployment benefits.
The visual accoutrement for today are being provided by ACE, using touchdesigner to enhance the stream.
