$30-60
On Friday November 29, the day after Thanksgiving, The Bunker is proud to present a collaborative event with Japanese imprint Bitta. Bitta is owned and operated by DJ Nobu, who has been using it as an outlet for his own productions, and a place to showcase up and coming producers from Japan.
Of course no Bitta showcase would feel complete without a set from DJ Nobu, who will be leading us on a four hour prime time journey. It’s always a joy to host DJ Nobu at The Bunker (he was a part of our showcases in Tokyo in 2015 and 2016, closed Berghain at The Bunker label night there in 2016, and made his US debut at The Bunker in 2016). His ascendance from a hero in Japan to a superstar appearing on key festival and club stages worldwide feels complete at this point. Nobusan’s two post-pandemic appearances at The Bunker were all night b2b sets with Wata Igarashi, and we couldn’t be more excited to once again present him for a solo mind melter.
When we asked Nobu who else he wanted to bring from the label for this showcase, he immediately suggested Doltz. Doltz started his musical career in 1998 as a drummer in a hardcore punk band, and had a fateful encounter with DJ Nobu, who shares the same musical roots, when they were billed alongside each other at a party in 2022. Impressed by Doltz's live performance, DJ Nobu immediately booked him for his residency party 'reprise' at Womb Tokyo. The two hit it off and began exchanging tracks, with DJ Nobu actively playing out Doltz's tracks while touring across the world and receiving a good response. Tonight’s live set from Doltz will be his US debut!
Closing the night will be the newest member of The Bunker family, Sarah Wreath of Berlin. Sarah released her debut LP on The Bunker earlier this fall to wide acclaim. After years spent solidifying her sonic identity, completing a degree in sound engineering, engaging in therapeutic sound practices, and playing psychedelic techno sets across Europe, Wreath has crafted a stunning collection of tracks that showcase the maturity of an artist well beyond her years. Hovering around the 90 bpm range, the LP merges psychedelic synth work with sludgy techno mechanics, creating a sound that is as deep and atmospheric as it is hypnotic. Tonight will be Sarah’s US debut!
And launching the spaceship will be none other than The Bunker resident DJ Patrick Russell, who just released an amazing remix on Sarah Wreath’s debut LP.
