Born in Treviso, a small city near Venice, Marco Shuttle has been involved in the local underground club scene since he was 15, initially as a promoter and then as a DJ. After moving to London to earn an MA in Fashion at Central Saint Martins, he became involved in the clubbing scene there, garnering a residency at the legendary Süd Electronic parties, and running his own event, a popular Sunday afternoon/evening session at Cafe 1001.
Due to his background in fashion, a primarily visual medium, Marco considers his musical style to be constructed with an aesthetic approach. He has been deeply inspired by Detroit techno and electro, acid house, New York deep house and garage, and electronica. His own productions can be described as very deep and dark and often tend to have strong percussive elements with dry electronic sounds and groovy basslines. Marco's initial releases on Serialism and brut! stood out but he really began his rise to prominence with the 2011 release of "The Vox Attitude" EP on Vidd, which has since become a sought-after classic techno record. In 2012 he caught our ears with a stellar 12" on Clone's Store Only Series, and the launch of his own label, Eerie. Marco used the Eerie imprint to release four of his own EPs over 2012-13. These critically acclaimed EPs represent some of his deepest and most challenging music but did not fail to move dance floors worldwide.
As result of the international success of his productions, Marco has been DJing globally with bookings at some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals in the world, including: Labyrinth (Japan), Berghain (Berlin), Fabric (London), The Bunker (New York), Wave Festival (Amsterdam), Moog (Barcelona), and many more. Marco has since taken up residence in Berlin where he continued to produce for labels such as Peter Van Hoesen's Time to Express, our own The Bunker New York imprint and Neel and Donato Dozzy's label Spazio Disponibile.
Acronym first surfaced in late 2012 on his own imprint, Dimensional Exploration, putting out mind-bending music and working in the sphere of similar peers like Abdulla Rashim. A few months later he published a 12? on Rashim’s newly found label and platform, Northern Electronics. He has now shown himself to be a prolific producer of deep, percussive techno by continuously releasing EP's and remixes.
Polish born, Brooklyn based Amourette is an eclectic DJ pursuing emotion over a specific sound. She’s interested in spaced out electro, synth-wave, broken-beat techno, psychedelic distortions, deep baselines and indelible melodies. Amourette is the co-curator of Brooklyn’s Remedy and Weird Science events, focused on showcasing raw, groundbreaking talent who no one else will bring, playing the records that no one else dares play. Tonight she opens the room with her debut set at The Bunker.
For the next edition of The Bunker, we will continue our run at Market Hotel. For those of you who haven’t been, MARKET HOTEL maintains an outlaw vibe in a legal, licensed space. Wood floors that are great for dancing and easy on the knees, Kip Davis on lighting install and operation will once again create a unique look as he does for each event. SubBass will be doing sound, bringing in more gear than ever before.
MARCO SHUTTLE has been affiliated with The Bunker ever since he put out one of the first EPs on our label (“Fanfara” in 2014). Last year, Marco played an all night set at The Bunker Limited and introduced us to some new tracks that became “The Moon Chant” EP which was our biggest record of 2018, played by just about everyone. In addition to his work with The Bunker, he left his day job in the fashion industry a few years ago to tour and produce full-time, releasing albums on his own Eerie Records, Donato Dozzy and Neel’s Spazio Disponibile, as well as a string of killer EPs on several respected imprints. He’ll be closing out the night with an extended DJ set, marking his debut at Market Hotel.
ACRONYM has been releasing some of the best techno, dub and ambient music in recent memory, with 3 albums, over a dozen EPs, and a handful of collaborations out since 2012. A Swedish artist closely affiliated with Varg and Abdullah Rashim, most of his early work came out on the Northern Electronics label, but he’s now releasing via his own imprint, Stilla Ton. Tonight he makes his debut at The Bunker with a live set.
