Steve Barnes's first release as Process came out on Fat Cat in 1998. Since then he has released many records under the Process moniker on Traum, and a few as Steve Barnes and Traum. It was last year that he made a HUGE splash with the "Cosmic Sandwich" 12" on MBF. This immersive, hypnotic track became an instant anthem on late night psychedelic minimal techno dancefloors, and is a defining track of a genre which hasn't really been named yet (thank god for that). Tonight he plays a live set which is sure to slay.

Opening for Steve is labelmate Marcos Cabral, who has graced the Bunker several times in the past. His set of ridonkulous Cologne style bangers opening for Triple R in March had the whole place jumping.

Part of the Santiago-based duo Detalles (whose debut LP found a home on Traum), native Chicagoan Kate Simko has been making waves as of late with her solo live performances. In 2001 Simko moved to Santiago, Chile to study composition, where she met her partner in Detalles, Andres Bucci. The result was the duo's 2003 full-length album "Shapes of Summer" which received critical acclaim from magazines such as The Wire, XLR8R, and Urb. 2005 has been another busy year for Simko, with her return to WNUR, a couple new residencies in Chicago, another Detalles LP completed, a remix of Phillip Glass on the Glasscuts compilation (due out September 13), and a new project for Chocolate Industries.
