The Bunker NY has been a staple of NYC dance music for decades, constantly evolving since it was founded in 2003 and now well-established as a steady force in the global scene. Operating as a record label, party series, and booking agency, The Bunker is deeply rooted in dance music’s roots, while always open to exploration and fresh perspectives - often operating in the space in between, bringing together established legends with budding artistic voices.
Their Nonstop takeover kicks off with Blacklauren, a DJ and producer operating in deep, psychedelic techno, colorful and textured sound design, and heavy hypnosis, both as a solo artist and in sets over the years as part of duo The Long Count Cycle. Tonight serves as a release party for Blacklauren's new EP on The Bunker New York. French-Tunisian producer Azu Tiwaline follows–an artist who explores her Saharan origins through sound, combining cutting edge club sounds with organic, entrancing atmospheres.
Detroit DJ and producer Tammy Lakkis has gained notoriety for her hardware live sets, which weave Arabic vocals with genre-defying beats. She also holds two DJ residencies in Detroit, regularly bringing her adventurous style to favorite clubs like Spotlite and Marble Bar. NYC-based, Kansas City-born Sister Zo is no stranger to the Nowadays decks, and her infectious energy promises to reinvigorate the dancefloor for the morning hours.
US-born, Japan-based Erik Luebs brings his deeply layered and psychedelic approach to live techno to the sunrise hours–his releases on DJ Nobu’s Bitta label, Nous’klaer Audio, and The Bunker offer a preview of what might be in store. A leading figure of the Japanese techno scene, Haruka takes the dancefloor wherever it needs to go with a steady, hallucinogenic pulse.
The Bunker’s own Patrick Russell closes things out before the party moves outside for Mister Sunday. A singular DJ known for his mind-blowing sets as a resident of the No Way Back party series and his ability to seamlessly weave together twists and turns that would surprise even the most seasoned dancer, Patrick promises to leave the dancefloor breathless.
