Born in Treviso, a small city near Venice, Marco Shuttle has been involved in the local underground club scene since he was 15, initially as a promoter and then as a DJ. After moving to London to earn an MA in Fashion at Central Saint Martins, he became involved in the clubbing scene there, garnering a residency at the legendary Süd Electronic parties, and running his own event, a popular Sunday afternoon/evening session at Cafe 1001.
Due to his background in fashion, a primarily visual medium, Marco considers his musical style to be constructed with an aesthetic approach. He has been deeply inspired by Detroit techno and electro, acid house, New York deep house and garage, and electronica. His own productions can be described as very deep and dark and often tend to have strong percussive elements with dry electronic sounds and groovy basslines. Marco's initial releases on Serialism and brut! stood out but he really began his rise to prominence with the 2011 release of "The Vox Attitude" EP on Vidd, which has since become a sought-after classic techno record. In 2012 he caught our ears with a stellar 12" on Clone's Store Only Series, and the launch of his own label, Eerie. Marco used the Eerie imprint to release four of his own EPs over 2012-13. These critically acclaimed EPs represent some of his deepest and most challenging music but did not fail to move dance floors worldwide.
As result of the international success of his productions, Marco has been DJing globally with bookings at some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals in the world, including: Labyrinth (Japan), Berghain (Berlin), Fabric (London), The Bunker (New York), Wave Festival (Amsterdam), Moog (Barcelona), and many more. Marco has since taken up residence in Berlin where he continued to produce for labels such as Peter Van Hoesen's Time to Express, our own The Bunker New York imprint and Neel and Donato Dozzy's label Spazio Disponibile.
Shawn O’Sullivan and Katie Rose formed Further Reductions in 2008 as an outlet for their shared passion of electronic dance music. O’Sullivan, known for his recent techno releases as Vapauteen on L.I.E.S., 400PPM on Avian and Civil Duty (with Beau Wanzer of Streetwalker) on The Corner has been quite active lately blurring the lines between techno and noise music. With Further Reductions, O’Sullivan’s rhythmic sensibility is fused with Rose’s pop leanings to create super lush and atmospheric tracks that work both on and off the dance floor. Informed by the sounds of classic techno and early house, they subtly substitute the structure of functional club music with a more primal absorption based in their unique collaboration. Seductive vocals coupled with organically evolving sequences create a complex narrative that penetrates the subconscious in a way that conventional club music rarely threatens to.
As The Bunker heads into it’s 17th year, we are absolutely thrilled that Public Records has asked us to host The Bunker LTD in their beautiful new venue. We have been stunned by the attention to detail in every aspect of the venue, and their unbeatable music curation. The intimate Sound Room is the main performance space, and has a world class sound system. Here we will present our resident DJs, label artists and close collaborators playing all night sets that take you to the deepest corners of their collections. We’ll also be taking over the cafe up front, which features a hi-fi DJ set up, where we’ll have local friends taking over with eclectic vinyl only sets.
For our first edition at Public Records, we welcome back our Italian label artist Marco Shuttle in the Sound Room. Aside from his releases on The Bunker New York, Marco has released on Donato Dozzy and Neel’s Spazio Disponibile, and of course on his own Eerie Records. As a result of the international success of his productions, Marco has been DJing globally with bookings at some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals in the world, including Labyrinth (Japan), Berghain (Berlin), Fabric (London), Concrete (Paris), and many more. Marco’s deeply psychedelic sound has connected with The Bunker crowd many times in the past, and we’re always happy to welcome him back.
We’ve also invited Shawn and Katie O’Sullivan aka Further Reductions to take over the decks in the cafe. With connections to Wierd, L.I.E.S., and Minimal Wave, they are some of the deepest music heads we know of, and will be playing an all vinyl set of italo, party jams, and unexpected oddities. We have been wanting to have them DJ at The Bunker for a while and can’t wait to see where this goes.
