Born in Treviso, a small city near Venice, London-based Marco Shuttle has been involved in the local underground club scene since he was 15, as a promoter and then as a DJ. After travelling to London to gain his MA in Fashion at St Martin’s, he became involved in London’s clubbing scene. He became a resident DJ at the legendary Süd Electronic parties, and ran his own event, a popular Sunday afternoon/evening session at Cafe 1001.
Owing to his more visual background, Marco considers his musical style to be constructed with an aesthetic approach. He has been deeply inspired by Detroit techno and electro, acid house, New York deep house and garage, and electronica. His own productions are usually very deep and dark and often tend to have strong percussive elements with dry electronic sounds and groovy basslines.
He got some attention for his initial releases on Serialism and brut!, and really caught the ears of tastemakers like Steffi, Morphosis, Efdemin and many more with "The Vox Attitude" EP on Vidd in 2011. 2012 saw a very deep release on Clone's Store Only Series, and the launch of his own label, Eerie. Marco used the Eerie imprint to release four of his own EPs over 2012-13. These EPs represent some of his deepest and most challenging music yet, and were instantly successful on the techno circuit.
As result of the very international success of his productions and lable, Marco began traveling much more in 2013, with bookings at some of the most prestigious clubs and festivals in the world, including: Labyrinth (Japan), Berghain (Berlin), Fabric (London), The Bunker (New York), Wave Festival (Amsterdam), Moog (Barcelona), and many more.
2014 is looking very promising already, with a releases coming on not only Peter Van Hoesen's Time to Express imprint, but also The Bunker New York's new label.
We're thrilled to welcome London's Marco Shutte back to The Bunker. Since we presented his US debut back in 2013, he's released an album on his own label, one of the first 12"s on The Bunker New York, played Labyrinth and Berghain and a bunch of other great gigs. He was actually present at one of the first editions of The Bunker LTD at Trans Pecos, where the all night Carlos Souffront set blew his mind, so we're sure he'll prepare something very special. Opening the night will be Coward, a new project from John Templeton (of Great American Techno Festival fame) and Carl Ritger aka Radere. These guys are working on an EP for The Bunker and presenting Marco Shuttle in Denver the night before our party.
About The Bunker LTD: As The Bunker continues to grow significantly, many of you have expressed a desire to turn back the clock to the good ole days when the party was weekly at subTonic for 100 people or so. We miss those days as well, so in 2011 we launched a new series of events called The Bunker Limited. For The Bunker Limited, we bring a ridiculous sound system into a very small space, and limit attendance to 150. in 2013, we said goodbye to Public Assembly and the small loft space above it that housed The Bunker Limited. In 2014 we relaunched The Bunker Limited in a new art space we could not be more excited to be a part of, Trans Pecos. There will be no guestlist for The Bunker Limited, the only way we can pull this off in a space this small is if everyone pays. The sets at these events are not recorded, and absolutely no photography is allowed inside.
