Magic Mountain High is a collaborative project between Move D and Juju & Jordash. While they've only released a few records, they've already made the rounds with their improvised all-hardware live set, appearing at Panorama Bar, Freerotation, and many other impressive venues and festivals around the world. You can check out some of their free floating sets of the deepest psychedelic house in their Soundcloud archive below. We were deeply impressed with their North American debut at The Bunker at Output last year, and couldn't wait to bring them back for another set.
Løt.te is Mehmet Irdel, a Turkish-born artist who has been a friend of The Bunker for a long time. He’s currently based in Brooklyn, where he co-runs Rote Productions, a company that releases music, graphic works, video compositions, and photography, and takes a strong stance against the concept of intellectual property.
Irdel’s early work consisted of soundscapes, noise, and power electronics. Now, he’s trying his hand at techno, with incredible results. The music of Løt.te is far more intricate than the looser, darker work he’s known for under Rote Productions. The Løt.te project favors a more natural, analog feel; Irdel was disillusioned with the recognizably digital sound of computers and software that’s so prevalent in current electronic music.
Irdel is also a prolific visual artist and designer, in addition to his work as a producer; he creates most of the graphic design and artwork for Rote Productions, and his art inspires his music.
Tonight we return to The Wick after our highly lauded debut event there as part of Unsound Festival New York. We'll once again be taking advantage of the large stage in this room to present a night of live performances from some of the most exciting artists in the world. Appleblim, Shackleton's partner in crime in the legendary Skull Disco label and now head of Apple Pips, fills in for Shackleton, who had to cancel due to a work permit denial. Kangding Ray also joins us with his new A/V show, his first appearance in NYC since he blew us away at our Mutek event at The Bunker in 2011. Magic Mountain High, the trio of Move D and Juju & Jordash, join us once again with their deeply psychedelic take on improvisatory house music. Løt.te, the artist behind The Bunker New York 004, will present the world premier of his A/V show. Starting things off will be Queens aka Scott Mou, our buddy from Other Music who put an album out on Dial last year.
