In 2010, we launched the Berghain and Panorama Bar DJ residency at The Bunker, and tonight we present our seventh edition. For anyone who's been living under a rock for the past five years, Berlin's Berghain and Panorama Bar have established themselves as two of the world's greatest clubs (under one roof, no less). Known for having some of the best resident DJs in the world, an impeccable curation of guests, top-notch sound systems, and weekend-long debaucherous parties, they get everything right and throw what are arguably some the best parties in the world. For the seventh edition of this residency we are pleased to present the return of The Bunker crowd faves Prosumer and Tobias, Mike Servito, and The Bunker residents Spinoza and Eric Cloutier.
Tobias. is Tobias Fruend, also known as Pink Elln and one half of both Sieg Über Die Sonne (with Dandy Jack) and Non Standard Institute (with Max Loderbauer). Recently, he's gained a lot of attention with wildly popular dancefloor tracks and remixes on labels like Cadenza, Wagon Repair, and Ostgut Ton, but he's been producing his own brand of electronic music for over 20 years. With his current projects as Tobias., Non Standard Institute, and Odd Machine (an open collaboration with Ricardo Villalobos, Atom Heart, and others), Freund has redoubled his efforts to strip house and techno back to their most skeletal forms, all the while pushing at the limits of electronic sound design. This will be Tobias' third appearance at The Bunker in the past year and a half. He performed at the launch of our Ostgut series, and also at Unsound with Atom Heart.
Prosumer is a Panorama Bar resident, and tonight he will be playing a four hour set to close out the front room. Although he has slowly released a stream of amazing 12"s and even an album on Ostgut Ton with Murat Tepeli, he is more well known for his stunning DJ sets than anything. Prosumer simply GETS the art of DJing in a way that very few people ever have or will. Expect a skillful, emotional, perfectly programmed set full of some of the best house and techno you've ever heard. He's the kind of guy who will expertly read the crowd and give the party exactly what it needs at any given moment. His set at The Bunker Limited back in April was one of the best DJs sets we've ever experienced.
Mike Servito is a DJ's DJ - a lifelong music fanatic with a truly unique ability to move a dance floor. Fearless in his seamless transitions from one style to another, Servito has an unpredictability and a deep trust in his music knowledge that has garnered him a cult following and made him an in-demand DJ the world over. Although Servito is an NYC transplant, his DJ style is unmistakably Detroit. Inspired by Detroit radio the '80s and the city's local DJs in the '90s, Servito came of age in a flourishing electronic music scene, making his debut in 1995 and immediately gaining the attention and respect of his peers and local techno heroes. He has played multiple DEMFs and has held court with some of the best talent in the world. In 2008, Servito became the newest addition to Ghostly's DJ roster, and has happily returned to DJing and traveling the world playing his favorite music. Mike is one of the best DJs in New York City, and we never tire of his sets.
