We were extremely lucky and pleased to discover at the last minute that one of our all time favorite musicians, Vladislav Delay, was in New York City in need of a gig this Friday. He has recorded under many aliases over the years, most notably as Vladislav Delay for his more experimental work, Luomo for house, and Uusitalo for his techno projects. Under his various pseudonyms, he has released about 15 albums since his debut in 1999. His early work as Vladislav Delay instantly received a ton of attention in the minimal techno world, and fit right in on the legendary Chain Reaction label, yet still sounded completely different from everything that came before. His first album as Luomo on Force Tracks made an equally huge impact in the house music world, borrowing all the best parts of the genre's history and tweaking and smearing it as we'd never quite heard it before. In the past two years, he's released 4 new albums under various names on his resurrected self run Huume label. Pick up the February 2008 issue of The Wire, which features an indepth Vladislav Delay cover story by our good friend Phillip Sherburne. Tonight he will treat us to an early (by Bunker standards anyways) midnight live set that will explore some of his deeper, dubbier work. No advance tickets, limited capacity, early arrival recommended (doors at 11pm).

Through a leaking bodily cavity resembling the pork found in Chinese restaurants, Satan shat out a crystal beaming with glowing red embers. This crystal matured into the fetus of Seth Troxler. Seth was placed on earth as a weeping fetus, the sound of inevitability. As he grew, his ancestral roots took on a magnetic channeling power, more than his feeble mind could ever consciously fathom. As a result, he became capable of creating some of the world's finest and most intuitive dance cuts, including releases on FXHE, Esperanza and his hits "Satisfy" and "Love Berzereker" on Beretta Grey, and upcoming releases on Dumb Unit and Spectral in early 2007. Through a preternatural understanding of rave, Seth conjours up mixes like Botticelli conjoured his Venus.

He has played many outstanding international gigs, notably Panorama Bar, Watergate, Robert Johnson, Batofar and Wolf + Lamb. He is also a key conceptual force behind America's "Tesh Club" parties with partners in crime Ryan Crosson and Lee Curtiss. His musical influences include the chirping of crickets, the whirring of space ships, and the sweet sounds of whistling voodoo magic. However, Seth draws the majority of his inspiration from Robert Downey Jr., and the idea of releasing the shackles that bind Downey so he can finally do heroin in peace. On cold Detroit evenings one can often witness Seth Troxler in his front yard, situated beside an overly-cumbersome boombox in a nylon tracksuit, jacking his body to old Dancemania cuts and cooking bbq. To view first hand such a rare delight is truly magic.

Growing up studying piano and music theory, Kate discovered underground dance music during her teens and began DJ'ing at college station WNUR in 1998. Shortly after, she became dance music director of the station, where she learned the history of the music and was able to keep pace with current releases. At this time, Kate made a switch from a degree in classical piano to electronic music composition. In 2001, Kate moved to Santiago, Chile, where she continued her studies in music composition and met Andres Bucci. Bucci and Simko combined forces and have since recorded two full-length records together as Detalles (Traum , Kupei Musika).

Back in her hometown of Chicago, Kate is honing her talents, producing and performing full time. Kate is continually evolving as an artist, combining her wide range of influences into her own music, creating a unique personal sound that crosses genre borders, blending rich textures, melodies and intricate programming with funky bass and groove.
