The Bunker presents Ezekiel Honig, PJay, and Scott Mou at subTonic
Free
Ezekiel Honig recently released a gorgeous album of minimal tranquil techno on his own Microcosm Music label, plus a 12" with a remix from John Tejada. He will be opening the night with a live set of micro-funk. PJay is more or less synonymous with minimal techno in NYC. With both NYEX and Tronic, he's had a hand in more than a few legendary techno events here. On top of that, he's an outstanding DJ and producer, not to mention an extraordinarily nice guy who never stops smiling. Tonight, he's playing a rare non-techno live set (weirdo breaks, electro, and other stuff) ... you haven't heard this side of PJay before. You all know Scott Mou aka DJ Casio from Other Music (hint: he's the tall skinny dude with long hair). Super friendly guy with incredible taste in music. Expect a Kompakt-loaded set of dance music. We were thrilled to find out that Philip Sherburne just happens to be in NYC this weekend. This guy has exceptionally deep knowledge of electronic music, which he shares with the world by writing for just about every important music magazine out there. Check out his rocking Schaffel mix (which was commissioned by the Sonar festival) here: http://homepage.mac.com/psherburne/FileSharing1.html
