Born and raised in Metro-Detroit, Ryan discovered electronic music in his late teenage years. After strictly DJing for a few years, he took the next logical step by producing his own music in Fall 2003. Drawing from artists like Plastikman, Matthew Dear, Stewart Walker, and a heavy dose of Magda DJ sets, Ryan focused his attention on percussive programming, dubby basslines, and dark atmospheres. By expressing a tireless work ethic in the studio, Ryan was soon noticed for his efforts by local Detroit label, Beretta Music. Not long after this, Ryan signed music to Cologne based label Trapez Limited just one year after he began writing music. The EP release on Trapez LTD. titled, "Say So " was well received with many positive reviews from a plethora of international artists. In 2006, Ryan released his most stunning music yet, and really put himself on the minimal techno map. Under the alias Berg Nixon, he realeased an EP on M_nus that really turned heads, followed by a groovy remix of Troy Pierce's "25 Bitches", and an amazing track ("Victoria Station") on the Minimize to Maximize compilation. He also released his finest work yet, the "Gotham Road" EP on Trapez under his own name, which was just remixed by Magda and Bruno Pronsato.

Since the Summer of 2005, when Ryan played his first international dates in Berlin and Cologne, he has been all over Europe, playing big gigs at many top clubs. He is currently so in demand in Europe that he's decided to leave his home in Detroit to live in Berlin for awhile (so tonight may be your last chance to catch him for a good while).
