Tonight we celebrate resident DJ Unjust's (aka Ivy) birthday!
Strategy is one of those artists who works in many genres, making him a perfect Bunker guest. He makes rootsy dub for Tigerbeat6, ambient soundscapey stuff for Kranky, and techno and house for the ORAC label. Oh yeah, he also plays in Portland bands Nudge and Fontanelle. AND, he often DJs at dance parties around Portland. He just started the Community Library label last year, which has already had several records in heavy rotation at the Bunker. Obviously, this is a guy who lives for music.
Representing deepergroove and Loft-in-Space, eVa is one of the underground's best-kept-little-secret weapons ;-) She goes beyond the four-four formula and has recently been moving the afterhours' dancefloor with sets that stand out from the minimal mentality. Her mixes incorporate a deeper selection - from house and broken-beat influences to deep techno. eVa is a favorite of the birthday girl, so there's no doubt she'll bring something special for the occasion.
