The Bunker presents Miskate, Socks and Sandals, Ezekiel Honig, and Morgan Packard at subTonic
$5
Socks and Sandals is Clark ov Saturn and Sean Smith. They are the masters of fake German techno (although they have been getting more serious lately). These guys keep getting better with each performance, and they basically tore the roof off with their new set at Mini Mutek last month. They have recently released their debut 7" on their own label DIY style, have a split 10" on Microcosm with Miskate. They might even graduate to a full 12" release soon.
Miskate is most well known for her collaborative 12" with Someone Else on Foundsound, which was one of the minimal techno joints of the year in 2004 (getting play from Richie Hawtin, John Peel, Dan Bell, Magda, Sammy Dee, etc). Now she is stepping out of Sean's shadow with a few releases of her own. We've heard whites of the new 12" on Microcosm, and they are super impressive and really establish her as an important voice in the minimal scene.
Ezekiel Honig is a drum'n'bass DJ turned melodic micro techno producer. His debut album on his own Microcosm imprint turned alot of heads and was very well received by critics and music fans alike. His sound is subdued and beautiful, filled with "mistakes" and sneaky little melodies. He has an album coming later this year with Morgan Packard, with whom he'll be playing live tonight.
