Foundsound is a new Philadephia based label. Their first release by Someone Else (aka Sean O'Neal of Fuzzybox/Tuning Spork) and Miskate with a Matthew Dear remix is out this month. Cyhl dropped some of these tracks in his Final Scratch set at the Bunker a couple months back, and we can tell you they are total hotness. This is deeeep minimal techno, just the way we like it. If you thought Dan Bell gave the new subwoofer a workout last week, wait until you hear this. Upstairs this week, we have two bands who are relatively new to the NYC scene. Aqui has been playing all over the place for the last two months ... we caught them for the first time when kleverVice booked them for the Madagascar Institute party at Volume (yes, the same party where she had her terrible accident). Their sound is heavy dark psychotic rock. Squaw has only played a few shows, but we love them! Two guys who just let it rip and attack their guitars to create a slow burning metal noise. Totally nuts and highly entertaining.
